Terms of service
Pearliva (“we”, “us”, “our”) sells modern jewellery and accessories for women through pearliva.store. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Name, phone number, email address, and billing and delivery address when you place an order or create an account.
- Messages you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp, including photos you share for damage or return claims.
- Your email or phone number if you subscribe to our updates.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser details, IP address, pages viewed, products viewed, items added to your cart, and how you arrived at our site.
- This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Payment information
We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled by our secure payment partners. We receive only confirmation that a payment was made, along with the amount and payment method type. For cash on delivery orders, we may collect UPI or bank details only to send you a refund.
How we use your information
- To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order updates.
- To handle returns, exchanges, refunds and customer support.
- To prevent fraud and secure our website, including verifying cash on delivery orders.
- To improve our website, products and shopping experience.
- To send you offers, new arrivals and reminders, only if you’ve agreed to receive them.
- To show you relevant ads on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Google and Pinterest.
- To comply with legal and tax obligations.
Marketing messages
We send marketing by email, SMS or WhatsApp only with your consent. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to our messages, or writing to us. We’ll still send you essential messages about your orders.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes order and customer data.
- Payment partners, to process your payment.
- Courier and logistics partners, who receive your name, phone number and address to deliver your order.
- Marketing and analytics tools, such as Meta, Google and Pinterest, which receive information about your activity on our site to measure and improve our advertising.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights.
These partners may only use your information to provide their services to us and under their own privacy terms.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our site and measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, such as checkout, may not work properly without them.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as needed to fulfil your orders, handle returns and support, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. After that, we delete it or anonymise it.
How we protect your information
Our store runs on Shopify’s secure platform, and all payments are processed through encrypted checkout. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights and choices
Under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.
- Raise a complaint about how we’ve handled your information.
To make a request, write to us at the contact details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Continued use of our website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Contact and grievances
For any privacy question, request or complaint:
Pearliva
Email: support@pearliva.store
Address: 2nd Stage Road, Maruthi Nagar, 334A, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560072, India
We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
Things to check before publishing:
- Tools list. I named Meta, Google and Pinterest because those are the channels in your plan. If you aren’t running the Meta pixel, Google Analytics or similar yet, trim that line. If you use others (a WhatsApp tool, an email platform, a COD verification app), add them to the sharing list.
- Business name. Add your registered legal entity name under “Contact and grievances” if you want it shown. Indian e-commerce rules expect a seller’s name and address on the site, and the address I used is the one from your existing policy.
- Grievance timelines. The 48-hour acknowledgement and 15-day resolution are commitments you’ll need to keep. Change them if they aren’t realistic for a solo operator.
- Email consistency. This uses support@pearliva.store like the return policy.
- Legal review. I’m not a lawyer, and India’s data protection rules are still being phased in. For a store at this stage, this covers the essentials, but have a lawyer look at it once you start scaling ads or collecting more customer data.
